A Plea to Love

Once more, the door waits there
but now it won’t be opened.
Again, love knocks in vain
for now my heart has hardened
Forget? I can’t forget the time
you caused my tears to ramble
Oh love! The painful aftermath of which
has taught my soul to tremble
Be still and don’t come near
if you’re not mine to keep.
Please care. To dare
wake up this heart I won’t
so please just let it sleep.
